Queensland Art Gallery & Gallery of Modern Art
The QAGOMA Learning team, in collaboration with the Gallery’s Teacher Advisory Group (TAG), has developed a series of curriculum aligned Education Resources to provide teachers and students with opportunities to view and meaningfully respond to the 11th Asia Pacific Triennial.
The primary resources are structured around the F-10 Australian Curriculum cross-curriculum priorities, while the secondary resources align with QCAA Visual Art senior syllabus through the formal, personal, cultural and contemporary contexts.
Resources
Primary resources:
These Education Resources draw connections between ‘The 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’ and the cross-curriculum priorities outlined in version 9 of the Australian Curriculum: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures; Asia and Australia’s Engagement with Asia; and Sustainability. Four artists have been selected for each cross-curriculum priority, with resources offering artist and artwork information, as well as ‘look and think’ and ‘create’ prompts to support teaching and learning before, during and after a visit to the exhibition.
Secondary resources:
These Education Resources draw connections between ‘The 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art’ and the QCAA Visual Art Senior Syllabus through the formal, personal, cultural and contemporary contexts. Two artists have been selected for each context, focused on a common theme, with resources offering artist and artwork information, as well as discussion prompts and activities to support classroom learning.
