About

This live online workshop led by Dead Puppet Society introduces students to the art of puppet manipulation.

Students will create their own simple puppet using brown paper and masking tape, then learn how to bring it to life using key puppetry principles including focus, breath, gravity and biomechanics.

Suitable for students in years 1-6.

We aim to deliver learning experiences that support diverse learners. Let us know any considerations that will help us ensure meaningful participation for all students.

What to Expect

  • This live workshop will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams.
  • The duration of the workshop is 60 minutes.
  • The Teams link will be sent via email to registered teachers.
  • Teachers should join the Teams call from their devices, and display the call on a large screen and speakers that can be seen and heard by all students (e.g. electronic whiteboard, projector, TV).
  • Teachers are expected to remain with the class and support students during the session.
  • Teachers will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to join the online session, prepare their classroom, and organise required materials.
  • The session will not be recorded.
  • Students are encouraged to follow along with the workshop from their classrooms, with the guidance of their teacher.
  • We encourage attendees to logon to Teams a few minutes early, so you can get settled and check your technology is working for you.
  • Because there will be multiple schools attending this program, your camera and mic will be disabled. You can ask questions via the Teams 'chat' function.
  • This program will be monitored by QAGOMA staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our attendees.
