About
Following a ground-levelling earthquake in the heart of Seoul, a single apartment block is left standing amongst endless fields of wreckage and ruin. In the aftermath of the event, the surviving residents assemble to take stock of their limited resources. Soon, other survivors begin to arrive, desperately seeking food and shelter. With minimal supplies available, civility and compassion are quickly abandoned, resulting in a slow descent into tribalism and survival by any means necessary.
Featuring stand-out performances from Park Seo-jun (Parasite 2019) and Park Bo-young, Um Tae-hwa’s post-apocalyptic parable of social ennui uses natural disaster as a form of duress to question the limits of humanity in the face of desperation.
